Gaussian Splats in Unreal Engine!! Gaussian splatting is a method used in real-time 3D reconstruction and rendering from multiple viewpoints. It involves projecting data onto a 2D image plane and spreading each point's contribution using a Gaussian function. This technique enables smooth and accurate representation of 3D scenes in real-time applications. By employing this within Unreal Engine we not only achieve remarkable visual fidelity but also ensure optimal performance. Using efficient algorithms like Grid-based Projection, Gaussian Kernel Convolution and GPU acceleration it's able to provides us with Precise Surface Rendering, Immersive Volumetric Effects & Efficient Data Visualization which helps the artists to craft visually stunning worlds that captivate audiences, bring their creative visions to life with unparalleled realism, and streamline their workflow for greater productivity and creative freedom. And guess what? We've put this into action! Check out this render of a Gaussian splat imported inside Unreal Engine using the Luma AI plugin. Hats off to Harshil Patel for doing the amazing Level Design and Animation on top of the Rendering. #UnrealEngine #GaussianSplatting #RealTimeRendering #3DVisualization

Hmm, it had some noticeable jitters. I’d rather have less realistic with no jitter. The jitter would drive me insane!

Is the idea that it's supposed to look like paper minis? Because it looks like that to me which is a pretty cool aesthetic.
